The short version: Wheespr is built around privacy. We collect as little as possible, store it as briefly as possible, and never sell your data to anyone.
Wheespr is operated by Amir Darahmed, a sole trader (micro-entreprise) registered in France.
When you create an account via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, we receive:
We do not collect your real name, phone number, or any other personal identifier beyond the above. No email/password authentication is offered — sign-in is handled exclusively via Apple or Google.
Messages, voice messages, and photos exchanged within Wheespr are stored on our infrastructure (Supabase) for the duration of the conversation — 7 days on the free plan, up to 30 days on Wheespr Plus. After that period, conversations and associated media are automatically and permanently deleted.
Wheespr Plus subscribers can create permanent invite codes. We store the following data associated with permanent codes:
Permanent codes are stored for as long as the subscriber's account is active, or until the code is manually deleted by the user. Deleting a permanent code permanently removes it from our systems.
We may collect anonymised usage data (e.g. app crashes, feature usage) to improve the service. This data is not linked to your identity.
If you grant permission, we collect a device push token to deliver message notifications. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Wheespr Plus subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) via RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details. Please refer to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies for how they handle payment information.
We use the data we collect solely to:

All providers are bound by data processing agreements and handle data in accordance with applicable law.
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Data at rest is encrypted on Supabase infrastructure. Media shared within conversations cannot be saved directly to a recipient's device camera roll — they are accessible only through the Wheespr app for the duration of the conversation.
While we take security seriously, no system is completely infallible. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Apple or Google account.
Wheespr is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@wheespr.app and we will delete the account promptly.

The Wheespr mobile app does not use cookies. Our website (wheespr.app) may use minimal, privacy-preserving analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Wheespr uses Supabase as its database and file storage provider. Our Supabase infrastructure is hosted in the United States, chosen to provide reliable service to both US and European users. This means that data — including messages, media, and account information — is processed and stored on servers located in the US.
For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), this constitutes an international transfer of personal data outside the EEA. This transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, specifically the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, which Supabase has in place. You can review Supabase's data processing terms at supabase.com/privacy.
RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, may also process data in the United States, under equivalent safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
